Privacy policy

The short version

• We collect vehicle and location data from your Tesla only to build your trip log, charging history and the features you use.
• We never sell your vehicle or account data. Google Analytics and Meta Pixel measure visits to public pages only if you opt in to their separate categories; we do not track app activity or send trip or account data to them.
• Your data is stored on servers in Germany.
• You can delete your account and all of its data yourself, at any time, in your profile.

OhMyMiles (“we”, “us”) runs ohmymiles.com. The controller of the personal data described here is PRINT IT! SE, Altajská 1568/2, 100 00 Praha 10, Czech Republic, company ID 06960090. For any privacy question or request, email [email protected].

What we get from your Tesla

When you connect your Tesla, you sign in on Tesla’s own page and approve the permissions below. We never see your Tesla password. Tesla gives us an access token, which we store encrypted and use only for these purposes.

• Your Tesla profile

  Name and email of the Tesla account, so we can link your cars to your OhMyMiles account.
• Vehicle data

  Odometer, battery, speed and charging state. This is what turns into trips, charges and efficiency charts.
• Location

  Where trips start and end and the route between, so your log shows real addresses and places can tag trips for you.
• Charging history

  Sessions and prices from Tesla, so Supercharger costs are exact. Also lets you start or stop charging from the app.
• Remote commands

  Only when you tap a control, run an automation you set up, or allow an AI assistant to. Unlock, frunk and trunk can’t be put on a schedule, and the app asks you to confirm them.

From these permissions we store your vehicles (name, model, VIN), trips (times, start and end locations, the route, distance, speed, energy use and outside temperature), charging sessions (time, place, energy, power and cost), battery readings, periods when the car is parked, and a log of commands sent to the car.

What you give us

• Account: your email address and a password, or your Google or GitHub account if you sign in with one of those.
• Profile and settings: your name, time zone, currency and units.
• Places and prices: addresses you save, like Home or a client, and your electricity rates.
• Trip details: business or personal tags, labels and notes.
• AI assistant connections: which assistants you connect, what you allow each to do, and reports an assistant files when it can’t complete a request.
• Billing: handled by Stripe. We receive your plan and payment status, never your full card number.

Why we use it

• To provide the service you signed up for (contract): logging trips and charges, reports, controls, automations and AI assistant access.
• To bill you (contract and legal obligation): subscriptions and tax records of payments.
• To keep the service secure and working (legitimate interest): preventing abuse, fixing errors, monitoring our Tesla API usage.
• To understand visits to public pages (consent): Google Analytics records page views only after you allow analytics.
• To measure marketing (consent): Meta Pixel records visits to public pages only after you allow marketing.

We don’t use your vehicle or account data for advertising, sell it, or use it to train AI models.

Who processes it for us

• Tesla, the source of your vehicle data, under Tesla’s own privacy policy.
• Hetzner Online, Germany: servers and database.
• Cloudflare: network delivery and protection for ohmymiles.com.
• Stripe: payments and subscriptions.
• OpenStreetMap Nominatim: turns trip coordinates into street addresses. Only coordinates are sent, never your name or account.
• Google or GitHub, only if you choose to sign in with them.
• Google Analytics, only if you allow analytics: measures visits to public pages. We send the page path without its query string, and do not send account, vehicle, trip or charging data.
• Meta Pixel, only if you allow marketing: measures public page visits and advertising results. We do not pass account, vehicle, trip or charging data as event parameters.
• AI assistants you connect, like ChatGPT or Claude, receive the data you allow when you ask them something. Their own terms apply to what they do with it.

Some of these providers are based outside the EU. Where data leaves the EU, it’s protected by the EU Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision.

How long we keep it

Your trips, charges and settings stay for as long as you have an account, because a mileage log is only useful if it’s complete. When you delete your account, everything is removed right away, and your cars stop sending data to us. Payment records at Stripe are kept for as long as tax law requires.

Your rights

You can access, correct, export and delete your data. Most of this is built in: edit trips and places in the app, download your log as CSV from Trips, and delete your account in your profile. You can also revoke our access to your car at any time in the Tesla app. For anything else, or to object to processing, email us. If you’re in the EU or UK you may also complain to your data protection authority, or to ours, the Czech Office for Personal Data Protection (ÚOOÚ).

Cookies

Essential cookies keep you signed in and remember your time zone and selected car. If you allow analytics, Google Analytics may set cookies such as _ga to distinguish visits. If you allow marketing, Meta Pixel may set _fbp or _fbc to measure advertising results. We save your choice in your browser for up to one year. You can reject or change either category at any time through “Cookie settings” in the footer. The relevant tag does not load on your next visit after rejection, and we clear its cookies when you withdraw consent. An earlier analytics-only choice does not grant marketing consent.

Children

OhMyMiles is for vehicle owners and isn’t meant for anyone under 16.

Changes

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we’ll tell you by email or in the app before it takes effect.
